> Poem #1:

A Romantic Night

My hand mimics itself in a thousand repetitions
And I ache

Each memory of muscle
The wasting of my aptitude for marks.

The clauses form
And you arch your back

I think

On sheets you’ve torn and fixed for years.
They are older than the symbols, blue

And hyper in the dark.

My fingers, stiff and obstinate
Are counting sheep across the screen
And as you writhe

I watch you breathe
Like mist drawing in.

This is theft, you realise?
This is not a dream.
